As part of its strategic cargo expansion across Southern Africa, Airlink has deployed a new suite of advanced cargo screening systems supplied by global security solutions provider HISSCO INTERNATIONAL. The rollout includes the installation of 1010 Dual View X-ray cargo scanners aimed at strengthening the airline’s freight screening capabilities and ensuring compliance with international aviation security standards.
The move comes as Airlink, Southern Africa’s largest independent airline, continues to grow its regional network, currently spanning more than 45 destinations across 13 African countries. With demand for reliable cargo services rising in parallel with passenger traffic and cross-border trade, the airline is investing in state-of-the-art infrastructure to meet both current and future operational needs.
The newly installed Dual View scanners, fully certified by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), offer enhanced threat detection through high-resolution dual-angle imaging. The technology enables faster throughput and improved identification of prohibited or hazardous materials—capabilities essential for high-volume cargo environments.
